A steel plate shot blasting machine, also known as a steel plate pretreatment line or plate shot blasting machine, is a type of industrial equipment specifically designed to clean, strengthen, and roughen the surface of metal sheets such as steel plates and steel products (such as sections and square tubes). It is an indispensable pretreatment equipment in industries such as shipbuilding, heavy machinery, bridge construction, and pressure vessels.
How It Works
The working principle of the steel plate shot blasting machine is based on centrifugal force projection and circulation recovery system.
Loading: The steel plates to be processed are fed into the sealed chamber of the shot blasting chamber via a roller conveyor system.
Shot Blasting And Cleaning: The shot blast wheel (the core component) at the top of the machine rotates at high speed, hurling a large number of metal shots (steel shot, cut wire shot, etc.) at both sides of the steel plate like a "rain of bullets" at extremely high speeds (up to 80 meters per second) and at a specific angle.
Cleaning And Recycling: The mixture of scale, rust, and loose shot is collected by a screw conveyor below the machine and transported to an elevator.
Separation And Recycling: The elevator conveys the mixture to a separator. The separator uses air separation to separate intact shot from broken shot and dust. The intact shot automatically returns to the shot blast wheel for further use, while the broken shot and dust are discharged and collected.
Blowing And Unloading: The cleaned steel plate is sent out of the shot blasting room, and the built-in cleaning roller brush and high-pressure blowing device remove the projectiles and dust remaining on the surface. Finally, a clean steel plate with a certain roughness is obtained, which is sent out through the roller and can proceed to the next process (such as painting).
